Later, she spent many years listening to life stories in counselling rooms and while teaching adult students. Soon she found herself looking for stories that reflected the themes people brought to counselling and to discover the places where her own story touched universal myths and narratives.
She is naturally funny and a true original. Her style is more stand-up homily than stand-up comedy, with a slight flap of her hands here and a nod of her head there she can deliver a riveting anecdote...where has she been all our lives?
