Glistening Waters International Festival of Storytelling

storybook.jpgDuring Friday 24 - Monday 27 October we invite you to come again to share with us in this rich event with the usual Workshops, Masterclass, Showcases and sharing and storytelling sessions. There will be music, laughter and fun: stories to inspire and elate you and stories that will move you to tears.

The aims of the festival are to enhance the art and practice of storytelling by offering a showcase of New Zealand and international storytelling talent. Each festival programme contains a mix of workshops to enable storytellers to develop and expand their art, special sessions for children to create and tell their stories and sessions for people who just want to sit back and listen to well crafted stories from a range of countries.

New Zealand has a proud history of storytelling based on Maori and Celtic oral traditions. Storytelling is the oldest form of communication; stories tell us about our past, provide insight into the future and share truths that affect our lives. Storytelling is a way of sharing who we are, where we come from and where we are going.

Please check our [WWW]web site regularly as it will be updated as soon as more information for the festival is confirmed.

One of our own Wairarapa storytellers, Gaye Sutton is involved with this festival.
