Solway College

solway_logo.gif Located in Masterton, Solway College is one of New Zealand's most historic girls' boarding schools. Established in 1916 and, in the 1970s, one of the first girls' colleges to become integrated in New Zealand, the aim is to consistently provide a holistic education for young women in Years 7 to 13 (Forms 1 to 7). It offers a limited number of day girl places and a variety of boarding options for New Zealand and international students.

The college is affiliated to the Presbyterian Church but is non-sectarian. Being an integrated school, Solway College has a defined special character that makes it unique, of which the teaching of Christian values is an important feature:

Since its founding, the college has placed special emphasis on creating a family atmosphere. Girls are expected to look after and support each other as they would in a family. Peer support and school sister relationships assist with this. With a maximum roll of 175, Solway College is able to take special care in catering for the needs of the individual.
